I'm thrilled someone like TPain has "got his", but a lot of people that look like him and has the same history and background he does do not get involved in the political process. And that is a mistake because they are the ones getting left behind, they are the ones whose schools are crumbling and streets on which they live are not being maintained properly. It's also why you have things like the school board in Texas voting and passing the provision that will rewrite history in school textbooks. You think that's by accident? No, it's by design; there are people that infiltrated smaller, local offices in order to make changes like we are seeing now. Read some of the changes and tell me "it doesn't matter". In the meantime, you have people that don't get involved grumbling about things that are happening instead of getting involved.

Don't tell me your vote does not matter. Too many people said that in 2000, when Gore was running. We see how that ended.

And yeah, TPain's excuse was lame.

Your imposing your philosophy on T-Pain. Your framing your reality around T-Pain and then denouncing him.
From T-Pain's frame work, he said what he meant and he meant what he said. I agree with him.
The key is in the words "it doesn't matter": that's the frame.
If you're getting what you want from the system then the system works for you. But if someone else gets NOTHING from this system, why should they even listen?
Currently the system steals from those who aren't listening. But if they listen, it even steals the time they spent listening to it.
Just 'cause you're getting yours, don't hate on the guy that's getting jack. Don't tell him he has to get with the system and grow up to be just like you. Respect his difference and his indifference.

Hello Jay,
Just catching up on your latest blog posts and as usual, they are very insightful! It then occurred to me that T-pain fits right in with Fox news, as they too play both sides.... I can’t believe it... they are all of a sudden seeking out a hip-hop artist to promote one of their shows and even going as far as attempting to rap ( I use those words lightly)...what happened to them spewing the evils of hip-hop? Oh well I guess there is always next week....

I thought your last point about T-Pain getting Bamboozled was on point. You could read that entire moment as a sort of ventriloquism because of the way Hannity was trying to get T-Pain to plug his show. On the other hand, T-Pain showed a little savvy, especially with the TiVo comment about his wife watching it all the time. While I don't condone the stance of ignorance, I think we should give T-Pain a little credit. Also, your autotune bit was hilarious. You almost had me spit out my drink. Big ups to you for always bringing your A game to the floor.

I'm on the fence on this one.

I have voting rights in 2 countries (dual citizenship). Here in the US (where I currently reside) I follow politics and vote in every local, state, and federal election. I even took my mother and then 2 year old out door to door for Obama last year. But in Germany, though I have the right to vote, I don't feel like I have all of the information needed to make a truly informed choice (instead of 2 parties in power where you pick the lesser of 2 evils, they have like 30-some who trade off power every few years), so I choose not to vote. Someday when my children are older and that free socialist college education is nearer, I may get more involved in the German political arena, but I refuse to be the idiot voting without knowledge.

So for me, I'm glad T-Pain isn't registered to vote. There are already plenty of morons out there voting without having a clue what they are voting for. Do we really need another one?
